JAZZ CENTRAL IS CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY, MARCH 23rd.  This concert is rescheduled to April 30th.

Saxophonist Nathan Hanson and I are collaborating on a night of music at Jazz Central Studios.

I’ve observed a number of musical friends undertake solo endeavors (Mankwe Ndosi, Davu Seru, Steven Hobert to name a few)and I felt moved to attempt some solo work myself. I completed a solo project on my blog, but that was 10 years ago!

I reached out to Nathan because 1) he’s a lovely player and improviser 2) we haven’t had the opportunity to play together very often and 3) I learned that he completed a series of improvised solo sax concerts a couple of years ago.

Our plan for the evening is to each play a solo set and then to do a set of duets.
