Scat Singing Fundamentals II: Beyond the Basics

The second scat singing workshop — Scat Singing Fundamentals II — provides time and space for more advanced practice and exploration. Jazz vocalist, pianist and educator Jennifer Parker joins Sarah M. Greer to lead a lively workshop that teaches you how to take your scat singing to the next level.

While we continue to practice the skills taught in Scat Singing Fundamentals I (vocal colors, personal language, front/back phrasing, etc.), in this workshop we will add working with song forms, specifically the 12-bar blues and rhythm changes. This workshop allows you to practice and improve your scat singing with the aid of experienced coaches and other supportive singers. Enrollment is limited to 10 singers. There are 3 personal coaching spots.
